George Williamson is a freelance British choreographer working across ballet and contemporary dance in the UK and internationally. He was an English National Ballet School Choreographic winner in 2007, 2008 & 2009, an Associate Artist at English National Ballet 2012-2015, and Resident Fellow at the Centre for Ballet and the Arts (NYC) 2019.

After graduating in 2010, he joined Polish National Ballet where he continued to choreograph alongside his work as a dancer. His first professional choreographic commission was an interpretation of The Firebird at the London Coliseum for English National Ballet in 2012. For this work George was nominated for the prestigious Benoit de la Danse international prize.

Over the last ten years his work has toured nationally and internationally and been programmed by English National Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Berlin Ballet, West Australian Ballet, Lithuanian National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, New English Ballet Theatre, American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, Milwaukee Ballet & Polish National Ballet.

In 2014, he was a Finalist for the prestigious Rolex Mentor and Protégé Award and in 2017 won the Milwaukee Ballet Genesis Competition.

In 2015, he created his first full length narrative ballet, ‘Egle Queen of the Grass Snakes’, for Lithuanian National Ballet. Other narrative works include the critically acclaimed My First Ballet series for English National Ballet. Family friendly adaptations of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia and Swan Lake, toured the UK to sell out audiences.

George is a versatile choreographer, alongside creating narrative and abstract modern ballets for the stage, he is also an established movement director for film and live performance in the commercial, fashion and visual arts sectors (Tate Modern, London Fashion Week, the National Portrait Gallery, V&A and Boiler Room).
